Very rare and original, ca1930’s Pair of Native American Cheyenne Indian Bead Decorated, Hide Moccasins.
This original Pair of early 20th century Cheyenne Moccasins each measure approx. 10 1/4″ long at their stiff hide / parfleche soles. The vamps are beaded with a large “keyhole” style circle designs executed using red, chalk white, translucent dark green and translucent light green colored glass seed beads. There is also red mineral pigment decoration to areas of the outer surface. The Moccasins are thread and sinew sewn and feature applied cuffs and tongues. The soles are made of stiff hide / parfleche and show evidence of light wear.
The Moccasins offered here are unconditionally guaranteed original and of the period. They are NOT reproductions or modern recreations but original Cheyenne Moccasins crafted in the first half of the 20th century. This very rare and original Pair of ca1930’s Cheyenne Indian Bead Decorated Moccasins are in good condition only. While there is no physical damage or repairs, there are areas of the hide of the uppers that are stiff and dry and the hide of the Moccasins are in need of a serious leather treatment. All elements of the Moccasins are original and there has been no repairs or restorations but again, some of the hide is stiff and in need of a serious leather treatment.
A very rare and original, Pair of ca1930’s Native American Cheyenne Indian Bead Decorated Hide Moccasins and, although in need of some TLC, still a nice addition to any collection!!!
