Description
For sale is a
beautiful pair of Classic Antique Sioux (Lakota) Beaded Moccasins on Buffalo, from circa the 1870s-1880s.
The moccasins are made of native tanned buffalo hide, all sinew sewn, with parfleche soles (no painting visible). The uppers are decorated with
Venetian beads
, in typical Sioux (Lakota) designs,
all sinew sewn
, in bead colors white, translucent bottle green, translucent navy, rose-white-heart, and greasy yellow.
Overall good condition. Hide is supple. Clear signs of use. Worn out in several places with tear in hide as visible in pictures. Limited loss of beads. A very attractive pair of 1870s-1880s moccasins!
The moccasins measure each
