Chisel 6mm. Never used traditional Japanese chisel with original edge.
This is an excellent general purpose bench chisel well suited for fine carpentry, cabinetmaking and joinery. It has a bevel-edge blade forged and shaped by hand and has an extremely hard, durable laminated back supported by the milder steel bulk of the blade.
The harder edge steel measures approximately HRC 68.
It has a dense red oak handle, mounted with a hybrid tang and socket design and equipped with a hand wrought iron hoop to withstand hammer blows and heavy use; initial peening of the handle ends has been performed by the makers to be sure the hoop remains in place. The handle is 4″ long and the overall length is 9″. Made in Japan.
