Muhammad Ali vs Cleveland Williams RARE original 1966 Texas Boxing announcement

Description

Up for sale is a rare original 1966 Muhammad Ali vs Cleveland Williams boxing bout announcement.  This was for the November 14, 1966 Championship fight between Ali and Williams in the Houston Astrodome.  Included with the Ali/Williams announcement is a similar handbill for the June 26, 1966 fight between Ernie Terrell and Doug Jones.  On this announcement the promoter has added details about the upcoming Ali vs Williams fight.  It mentions where the fighters are training, and how this title match, the first to be held in the Astrodome, estimated the crowd to be approximately 60,000 with a gate in excess of $1 million dollars.  The author of these notes is definitely pro Williams, with comments such as “He is set to give Muhammad Ali something he’ll long remember”.  Both announcements measure 14″ x 8.5″.
The Ali announcement has a small tear along the right border at the fold.  Both have folds in them.
