Description
Professional handmade bassoon reeds. These reeds are made by me, a professional freelance bassoonist in the Oklahoma City area. I start with hand selected Rigotti tube cane, which is split and gouged with Rieger machines. The cane is shaped using the highly respected Van Hoesen shape, and profiled with a Rieger profiler. Finally, blanks are carefully formed and wrapped with glue after a drying process of 2 weeks, and the reeds are finished with a Rieger tip profiler. After tip profiling, the reeds are perfected using Dr. Dale Clark’s celebrated finishing method.
These reeds are tested on a Püchner Superior (my primary instrument) and a Fox 220 (the choice of thousands of high schools and colleges). These reeds are perfect for both students and professionals. They tend to be on the softer side (this allows for greater control).
I have many colors of glue available, so if you have a preference, please specify! I do also accept large orders, but please be aware these may take extra time.
